With one event over and successfully completed (whew!) it is on to the next event! Milwaukee are you ready for Hovercraft??
This local shopping fair started out in my neighborhood of Bayview and I have watched it grow. This year it is being held at Turner Hall Ballroom on December 8th from 12-6.
I'm sharing a space with my talented pal JESS (read her spotlight here)
So from now until then, my days off from my ~day job~ will be spent preparing artwork! I'm happy to be getting started right away on some original drawings (which will be framed and ready to display)
These lil burdz have been super fun to work on. I plan on making quite a few more.
The paper I am using is thin but sturdy. It's something new I found at the art store by a company called Kona. They say it is made from post consumer jute found in old coffee bags. It's surprisingly less "hairy" than the Strathmore tan paper and extremely durable and consistent.. I'm into it.
I have a few more totes that need to be assembled...
Good thing I did all the prep work for them last week. Everything is cut to size, printed, ironed and sewn up - READY FOR ASSEMBLY!
I need to publicly shout out my old faithful sewing machines - retired to the closet but not forgotten - I <3 you guys...
GIGANTIC THANK YOU TO BRITTANY OF VULTURE WOMAN PRESS FOR HELPING ME WITH PRINTING AND LETTING ME USE HER WILLY WONKA DREAM LAND STUDIO!! (and thanks to AJ and Patrick too, your space is amazing!)
Didn't these prints come out well?? IT's all thanks to Brit and her boyfriend AJ!!
