This week I added another desk to my work-space... I had been contemplating the move for a while now (like...years?) and the thing that was holding me back, I realized, was kid of silly. This area of my home is supposed to be the dining room, complete with a built-in buffet. Although we have never used the space for that purpose (it has been a T.V. room, a play-room, etc) I always thought that one day we might.
We recently bought a desktop, kicking my laptop off of the computer desk. I didn't want to retire it to some corner, all of my stuff is saved on it! And I didn't want to sacrifice any valuable table top space on my drawing desk.... So after going back and forth for an entire morning I bit the bullet and decided to haul my beat-up thrift store find from the attic and fully embraced the home-office idea.
I have had many a work-space in this home.... including this chair
located in the front/family room
Here is photo of what the room looks like when my art supplies aren't infecting it.
An attic studio space (can't find the photo for that)
The kitchen table...
And most recently this tin-top desk located in the corner of the dining-room
Here are a few shots of the space with the double desk layout...
I'm extremely EXTREMELY happy with this layout and kind of pissed off at myself for not doing it sooner. I find myself in this nook nearly all of the time. The only thing that could make this better is a single chair...with wheels.
